DILI, Timor-Leste — World Mosaic welcomed two new Dili-based specialists to the team this year: Januario Da Costa, software developer, and Lukito Freitas, graphic designer. Both now support the EdTech for Early Learning project, with Januario leading local application development and Lukito producing the artwork that gives the resources their unmistakably Timorese character.

Hiring in-country is a deliberate choice, not a convenience. Timorese children see their own world reflected in their learning because Timorese hands drew it. The project builds local technical and creative capability as it goes, and the company gains colleagues who catch the things a Sydney team never would. Culture is not a skin applied at the end; it is built in from the first line of learning design.
